The Dry Dock is an important adjunct to the Shipyard for undertaking repairs of ships. The Wet Basin with two arms serves additional afloat repairs. It is capable of handling vessels upto 70,000 DWT. The Dry Dock, the biggest and modern dock in the East Coast, has accomplished intricate repair jobs on a variety of Naval Ships including Submarines, Merchant Ships and Oil Rigs. Foreign and Indian Flag Ships have undergone hull and engine repairs.
The yard has taken up repairs of over 100 Naval vessels like tankers, amphibious warships, survey and hydrographic vessels, OPVs, LSTs etc. including upgradation and modifications of major ship systems.

a) Dock side working platforms for high pressure jet cleaning and semi-automatic airless spraying.
b) Facilities for undertaking sand/grit blasting over 1000 Sq Mtrs a day .
